Even though the weather was indecisive, we knew exactly what we wanted to do on the weekend. We went on a diving trip with Blue Water Divers, and our master diver slash boat captain was crazy Leo. Crazy Leo was from Italy, and who now has been diving for 5 years. A bit of a scitzo on land (I swear the man was talking to himself and sailed the boat like as if it was a race car!), yet mild mannered in the water.

We dove the Painted Walls - the BEST diving site I have been on t date! The coral pinnacles for large walls that look like magical oil paintings in the ocean. The rocky ridges are coated with orange, purple, red, green and yellow encrusting coral accented by many hard and soft corals bouquets. Absolutely amazing! During the dive, Dano found am amazing shell in the ocean. He brought it home, and was ready to pack it in his suitcase. To his surprise, a crab creeped out of the shell. That evening, Dano and I had a mini ceremony and he said his goodbyes and parted with the beautiful shell and threw it back into the ocean.

Ben's Birthday followed on the 18th of February. I took Ben out for supper to what we think is the est sunset on the island.

The Bananakeet restaurant is an upscale but completely unpretentious Caribbean restaurant. We never made any reservations, and when we arrived the place was booked solid. :o(
A bit stubborn, we stuck around the restaurant. Now that we live here, it was much easier to use some of our "we are local" charm with the hostess.

The hostess located a table for us, served us drinks, and she wrapped up the night with a cherry on top! - The restaurant's servers sang Happy Birthday and served Ben a birthday dessert - and nobody even told them it was Ben's Birthday!

Ben was convinced and embarrassed that I would tell the servers to sing him Happy Birthday!

Ironically, I didn't tell the servers anything about Ben's Birthday! During the singing everyone's face at the table was gobsmacked - and we were all looking at each other to determine who had spilled the news...Apparently nobody from the family said anything! They overheard, and surprised all of us!

Happy Birthday Ben!
